Our 9-Step Roof Replacement Process

Roof Replacement Process has the following nine steps, Signage, Material and Process Review, Pre-Installation, Preparation, Foundation, Protective Shield, Starter Strip, Properly Nailed Roof and the Clean Up. The detail about these steps is given below:

1. SIGNAGES

Ready Roofing & Solar will put up a sign prior to the insurance adjuster meeting and remain throughout your roof installation, alerting the insurance adjuster of the damaged location and marking the site for delivery drivers and installers and notifying other contractors that your roof installation/repair is under way.

2. MATERIAL & PROCESS REVIEW

The roofing project manager assigned to your job will confirm your shingle selection and color, discuss potential upgrades, implement change orders needed prior to material delivery, and review house-keeping duties and safety rules with you before we begin.

3. PRE-INSTALLATION

We will deliver materials in your driveway nearest your garage (unless directed otherwise), schedule local inspections and ensure city code compliance. Our project manager will oversee the entire process and always available to answer any questions.

4. PREPARATION

We will provide protective covering for your landscaping, pool, and patio prior to the removal of your existing roof (when needed), remove and haul off old shingles and debris.

5. FOUNDATION

The foundation of your Roof System (underlayment) is installed horizontally from one gable end to the other gable end, and never cut short.

6. PROTECTIVE SHIELD

The Ice and Water Shield is a modified self-adhering and self-healing product designed to seal critical areas from water penetration due to wind-driven rain and water back-up resulting from ice dams. It actually swells up and reseals itself around nail penetrations. It is also installed against exterior chimneys and in all roof valleys. New rubber boots will be installed on all pipe flashing and vent pipes.

7. STARTER STRIP

The standard 3-tab starter row is easily unzipped and blown off a roof during high winds. Therefore, we provide a free upgrade to a GAF Starter Strip: The Secret to Improved Wind Performance.

8. PROPERLY NAILED ROOF

Proper nailing is the key to a quality Roof System. We install pre-selected shingles according to manufacturer’s instructions and code requirements, and properly nail every asphalt shingle roof system. We never take shortcuts or cut corners.

9. CLEAN UP

Our roof installers will continuously remove roof debris throughout the roofing process. We deposit all debris into our disposal container throughout the roof installation. We will also sweep the property with magnets to collect any nails that may have hit the ground.

UPGRADES

ROOF VENTILATION (Ridge vents, soffit vents, turbine vents). Proper roof ventilation leads to longevity of shingles, while improper roof ventilation decreases life expectancy. Manufacturers’ warranties can be voided if the roof system is not properly ventilated. This is the ideal time to upgrade your attic ventilation system. However, please be advised that your insurance carrier will not pay for upgrades, so roof ventilation upgrades will be an added expense.

Indications that your attic might have a ventilation issue include wet or compressed insulation, rusty nails or rust spots that dripped onto your insulation, blackened, or buckled sheathing, mold or mildew inside your attic, curling or cracking shingles, uneven snow melt, and icicles at the roof edge. We always suggest incorporating a combination of intake and exhaust vents for maximum efficiency. Please refer to airvent.com for more information.

I can’t speak highly enough of our consultant, James Way. We knew the roof on the home we purchased was in decent shape, but wanted an honest assessment of areas where it was truly problematic. Other roofing companies gave estimates in the thousands, … More one over $10k, for work they recommended right now. That just didn’t seem right because we knew with the age of the roof it would likely need to be fully replaced in the next few years anyway.
Thankfully we had James come out for an assessment, and he was clear and transparent from the start. He acknowledged that the roof would probably need a replacement in the next few years, but that the roof was overall in decent shape. He spent time explaining to us why the areas identified for repair by other companies were not immediately problematic (if not completely bogus). He recommended caulking a few very small holes to prevent water intrusion, something he did free of charge, but said that otherwise our roof should be just fine until a full replacement is due. What a relief to work with someone honest who isn’t looking to immediately extract every cent possible from the customer. When the time comes for our roof to be replaced, and for any roofing needs before then, James and the Ready Roofing team will be our first call.

My roof was totaled in the hail storms in Allen in March of 2025. My previous roof only lasted 8.5 years. Part of that short lifetime was my fault because I took the advice of the previous roofing company as to what shingles I should get. It turns out … More I had contractor grade shingles that were “unrated” for hail. They looked OK but hot summers and hail did a number on it. This time around, I researched and found shingles that were class 4 architectural shingles that were also rated highly in 3rd party impact tests.
I thought I might have difficulty finding a roofer to install Malarkay Legacy Scotchguard shingles or they would cost a fortune. Ready Roofing didn’t have them in stock but they were able to order them in a timely fashion and the price was very reasonable.
Throughout the process, my sales reps Carson Moore and James Way contacted me numerous times to let me know what the status was. They answered all my techie questions and were very knowledgeable about the industry in general.
The install crew showed up when promised and did an excellent job. I had upgraded my roof ventilation to ridge vent with my previous installer. However, they just shingled around my dead powered vents. Ready Roofing replaced the entire 4x8 decking sheets. I could see what looked like water damage around some of my vent stacks and they replaced that decking, bad trim and my passive vents without prompting.
The cleanup process was VERY thorough. There were thousands of red and blue washers (and nails) from the tear off and I was hard pressed to find any when they were done. James actually came out and rescanned my property for about 45 minutes after the install crew had cleaned up.
The only hiccup we ran into with the process was that we were several squares short on the delivery. I was worried that part of my roof would be left unprotected. However Carson or James had a courier deliver the necessary materials the same day! That’s great service!
In general, making good on your promises, installing a quality product, working through the inevitable issues that pop up and having great communication are exactly what I was looking for in a roofing company and Ready Roofing delivered.

After 16 months of discussions with my insurance company they received approval once they contested the insurance … More companies findings by hiring a mediator for a third party opinion. Once they started the job and completed it in just over a day and 1/2 the roof and guttering looked spectacular. Very efficient and the clean up was so good you never would have thought a new roof was just installed.
